Part of the National Trust for Historic Preservation Collection, this Kindel Furniture Company licensed reproduction Rococo serpentine chest is copied from a masterpiece created by Jonathan Gostelowe, a renowned Philadelphia cabinetmaker. This exceptionally well executed chest captures all the elements of the original, dating to 1781-1790 and part of the Collection on display at Cliveden in Philadelphia's Historic Germantown. Beautifully proportioned, this chest features a shaped and hand-carved top, superb figurative mahogany drawer fronts with fluted columns and elegant brass escutcheons and bail handles and robust ogee blocked feet.
