HENRY FORD MUSEUM BOMBÉ CHEST
This bombé chest is a magnificent reproduction of one of the rarest forms of American furniture. The original antique, dating to 1780, came from Boston's North Shore area, the only location in the colonies making this furniture design. This chest features a graceful overhanging top in proportion to its "kettle base", four graduated drawers enhanced with bold sand-cast brasses and sits on beautifully carved ball and claw feet.
