8866 WILLIAMSBURG LOWBOY/DRESSING TABLE BY BAKER FURNITURE COMPANY
Confident and swelling Baroque shapes and turnings distinguish furniture of the early 18th Century. This example is a reproduction of an extremely rare American dressing table in the early Baroque form made in Philadelphia, circa 1710-1720. Like the original, Baker Furniture Company crafted this table for Colonial Williamsburg from figuratively grained walnut. Beautifully proportioned, this graceful dressing table features an expansive top, center ogee front arch on the case which rests on trumpet shaped turned legs with a crossed stretcher accented by an urn finial. HN 24 HISTORIC NEWPORT SERPENTINE CHEST BY KITTINGER
This exceedingly rare Kittinger Historic Newport Serpentine Chest of Drawers is a faithful reproduction of the original, circa 1790, from the collection of Mr. and Mrs. Henry A. Wood, Jr., of Newport. The correct scale and proportions of this chest are the cornerstone of any fine piece of furniture. This chest features a top fashioned out of a single board of the choicest mahogany with cathedral graining and graceful serpentine, graduated drawer fronts fashioned out of figuratively grained mahogany and outlined with a delicate applied cockbead to create a shadow line.
As a transition piece, this chest features elements from the Rococo and Neo-Classical style. While the form of the case and its beautifully sculpted ogee bracket feet are in the Rococo style, its brasses and refinement of detail are clearly Neo-Classical. The overall achievement of this chest echoes the old Kittinger Furniture Company's advertising phrase "Furniture With No Equal".

A faithful reproduction of the Massachusetts original, most likely from the North Shore and dating to 1760-1770, this magnificent Rococo style serpentine chest with its fine proportions and detailing exemplifies the cabinetmaker's skill.
This chest is made of beautiful figured mahogany and secondary construction of yellow pine with complex joinery and unique dovetailing. There are four amply sized, graduated locking drawers embellished with exceptionally fine brasses. Cockbeading to the body of the chest frames and highlights the drawers and the body rests on high sculpted bracket feet.
