CW 70 WILLIAMSBURG TEA TABLE BY KITTINGERThis reproduction is one of the finest examples of a tilt-top, bird-cage table. The original piece is American and dates to 1775. The original of this table is believed to have been made by John Hemings, a slave who became a skillful cabinetmaker and executived many of Jefferson's original designs. This basin stand is an exact copy of an exceptionally refined New England antique dating to 1780. Made of beautifully grained mahogany, there is satinwood string inlay decorating the basin shelf as well as the center shelf drawer and two drawer effects on either side. This beautifully graceful piece features a dovetailed backsplash with upper shelf and is fitted with a CW9 Williamsburg pewter basin by Stieff.
